Cyclists on the Tour De Yorkshire will get a Tour De Wolds Wildlife as they pass my gallery

UPDATE Just updating this post with a short video of Yorkshire's biggest cycling event today. It was very exciting. The cyclists came through in two batches. Here's the first, including the king of the mountain (first up Garrowby Hill)

Tour de Yorkshire 2017And here they are cycling through my art installation. Read on below to find out the full story.

April 27th: It's been a busy day getting ready for the Tour De Yorkshire Tomorrow! I've been out putting up two-metre high copies of my paintings along the route. It rained most of the day but the sun is breaking through now! Watch the video below of the set up and read on to find out why..Getting Ready for the Tour De YorkshireHere we are loading up ready to take the exhibit up to the route to set up.

The outdoor exhibit will be up all weekend. If you are visiting the so why not 'drive through' and then pop down to the gallery. If you're on your bike there is plenty of room to lock it up outside whilst you browse.

Below is a video of the exhibit cyclists competing in the Tour De Yorkshire will be treated to once they reach the summit of the tour’s most challenging climb, Cote de Garrowby.

An outdoor art installation of 28 of my wildlife paintings will line the route as the cyclists turn off the A166 and head towards Birdsall along the top of this steep escarpment. My art installation, entitled ‘Tour De Wildlife’, features some of my most popular paintings of wild birds and animals that can be found in the Yorkshire Wolds; a region known as the wildlife capital of Yorkshire. The cyclists are expected to pass through my open-air art exhibition on the first stage of the tour at approximately 2pm on Friday April 28th.

My two metre-high framed pictures of Wold’s hares, foxes, puffins, badgers and birds of prey will line the section of the cycle route that passes closest to my gallery and studio at Thixendale, North Yorkshire. I want these detailed paintings to highlight the wealth of wildlife that you can find here on the Yorkshire Wolds. As the cameras following the Tour De Yorkshire pan over the stunning Wolds countryside, I want them to be reminded of the wildlife hidden in the landscape so that anyone inspired to visit the Wolds after the race is over will come and see the wild creatures here.

Below is a selection of the paintings that will line the route:

Well done showing what Yorkshire does best,
talent at source, and a massive County helps, good people with real spirit, and excellent countryside, about time Yorkshire landed, and the rest of the Country took notice, quietly and diligently, looking forward to the race showcasing our county, safe journey cyclists, and thanks for being here
