Athena the kestrel had a lucky escape when this stoat snuck up behind her. Watch as the sneaky stoat places it's paws on her back and then opens it's mouth, teeth bared ready to bite....you can almost feel her shudder!
Kestrels Athena & Apollo This kestrel pair are approaching their fifth breeding season, but have encountered numerous set backs in their attempts to secure their favourite nest, Ash Hollow, in Ash Wood. Mostly they've had to fight off competition from jackdaws, something the pair face every year. But this time it is a stoat that sneaks in to the nest when they are out and then emerges behind Athena.
