Film | Jaguars & amazing wildlife of Brazil's Pantanal | 4K | Brazil | Wild Travel

in search of Jaguars as a guest of Pantanal Safaris Tours. I was blown away by the abundance of wildlife that I saw.

The Pantanal

Is one of the world's most diverse and abundant wetlands covering 195K square kilometres. Located primarily in Brazil it also crosses into into Bolivia and Paraguay. This video highlights my favourite moments from the trip. This vast wetland hosts the highest density of jaguars in the world and they can be seen hunting during the day caimans from the river banks. I had never seen a wild jaguar before and I was delighted to be able to follow the stories of multiple individuals during my 2 week stay.

In addition to jaguars, the Pantanal is host to a diverse range of animals and birds. Giant river otters live in family groups and are skilled hunters feeding on fish and other aquatic creatures. Capybaras are the world's largest rodent and they can often be seen grazing on vegetation at the water's edge. Hyacinth macaws are the largest parrot species in the world. Their vibrant blue feathers and loud calls make them a highlight for birdwatchers.

Tapirs are the largest land mammals in South America yet surprisingly shy, foraging in the forest for fruits and vegetation. he Pantanal boasts an incredible diversity of bird species, with over 650 recorded. From jabairu, anhinga to the neotropic cormorant its no surprise that birdwatchers flock to the region.
