Penguins in art & film

30 November - 6 January
📍 The Robert Fuller Gallery, Thixendale, North Yorkshire

Experience the raw beauty of one of the wildest places on earth.

Inspired by Robert's adventures in South Georgia and the Antarctic, this event reflects a lifelong obsession with penguins and encompases film, photography, lifelike paintings and pencil drawings.

Open daily from 30th November - 6th January, this event is free to visit and includes complimentary mulled wine, mince pies and penguin bars - of course!

In his own words

“I absolutely love penguins. I have now been to the South
Atlantic twice and both times I've been blown away by its raw, pristine wilderness.

"Getting there is an adventure in itself, but worth every moment of choppy seas and long flights to see so many penguins and seals in one place. The sights, smells and sheer majesty of the place is overwhelming. It's easily the best wildlife experience I've ever had."

penguin art

This exhibition brings together all Robert's penguin art work and includes brand new pieces inspired by his latest, intrepid travel adventures to the Falklands and South Georgia. Painted using Robert's traditional, lifelike, style, this exquisitely detailed collection of original paintings, pencil sketches and fine art prints will take your breath away.

Penguin films

enjoy watching

Also on show are sumptuous films and photographs of king penguins, rockhoppers, gentoo penguins and more.

Among the stunning scenes to enjoy include king penguins marching in their thousands across wide open beaches, surrounded by vast glaciers and jagged, snow-covered mountains.

There are also comical episodes where penguins attempt to ‘run the gauntlet’ through rows of basking elephant or fur seals to reach the sea.
