Film | Tawny Owl Begins New Search for Nest | Luna & Bomber

Bomber the tawny owl has been spotted prospecting nest sites in my Yorkshire garden. Fingers crossed this means this owl and his partner Luna will nest here again.

Watch as Bomber tours available nest sites. First this male owl is captured examining Sycamore Stump, this is where kestrels have nested in the past, then he moves on to Ash Stump, where the barn owls Gylfie & Dryer nested last year, before finally returning to an old favourite, Beech Stump.

This is common behaviour for male tawny owls, since they are most likely to find a suitable site and then attract a female to it. Beech stump is a box this pair have nested in many times before and so, with luck, they will settle here again this season so we can watch their story unfold again.
