A collection of my paintings goes on show at Nunnington Hall near Helmsley North Yorkshire on Saturday until November 3rd. The exhibition, 'Wildlife on the Yorkshire Wolds', tells the story of the kestrels, weasels, stoats, badgers and owls I watch at my home in Thixendale. My wildlife films, taken from cameras hidden in my garden, and stories of my animal observations will be on show alongside the artwork.
Nunnington Hall has a long tradition of supporting art and photography and it is an honour to be exhibiting alongside the fine art collections at this stately National Trust property.
Interestingly, my work is on show alongside an art installation that challenges the collections of big game trophies also on display at this historic home. Changes in Attitudes, by artist Layla Khoo, encourages visitors to think about how attitudes to wildlife have changed since the early 1920s when Nunnington Hall was owned by a big game hunter.
In contrast, my paintings celebrate British wildlife. Each picture is a faithful reproduction of a wild animal that can be found in Britain and is designed to encourage people to cherish their natural heritage. Don't miss also seeing my bronze sculpture and enjoy some fun wildlife facts as you browse.
