The Robert Fuller Gallery: A Beautiful Beamed Space Dedicated Exclusively to my Art Work

Follow a single-track road as it drops into a deep fold of the Yorkshire Wolds landscape and you will, eventually, reach my home and gallery. Dedicated exclusively to my artwork, The Robert Fuller Gallery is a major draw to this remote Yorkshire region. Click here to read about the story of how it started as an collection of dilapidated farm buildings and was transformed to the beautiful beamed building you see today.

Business at my gallery has boomed since its humble beginnings in 1998 . It now receives an astonishing 12,000 visitors a year, serves 7,000 customers via mail order and supplies 500 independent shops around the country, including the gift shop at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate. This year it was shortlisted in the rural retailer category in the Yorkshire Post Rural Awards.

Despite its isolated rural location, the gallery is a hive of activity. Open every day from 9.30am-4.30pm on weekdays and from 10.30am  until 4.30pm on weekends, it sells my original paintings, bronze sculpture, prints, cards, calendars, fine bone china mugs and luxury tableware. The range of high quality merchandise suits every budget; from a £1.65 greeting card to an £8,000 original oil painting. Click here to link directly to my shopping page where you can browse all my artwork and related products.

Also available to buy are books on wildlife and local history, toys, and preserves made by local artisan producers for whom the gallery is an outlet. Visitors inspired by my appearances on TV and in print flock to these elegantly converted farm buildings outside Thixendale not only to see and buy my art work but also to learn about and engage with wildlife through displays of my photographic and video research. On display are screens linked to live cameras that I have hidden inside animal nests and this venue is the only place in the country where people can see directly into a weasel nest. Click here to see the very latest video clips from my nest cams.

I hold two art exhibitions a year here, each attended by up to 4,000 visitors. Each of my exhibitions is themed and I display information boards so that visitors can learn about the birds or animals I have painted in full. I also throw open the doors to my studio so that visitors can see how I translate my photographs and video taken in the field into paintings. . Click here to find out when the next exhibition is on and what I will be showcasing.  Customers from all over the globe will often book a holiday on the Yorkshire Wolds based around their visit t my gallery and I am happy to recommend places to stay and eat nearby. Click here to see a list of places to stay and eat if you are planning a visit.

Local people also take great pride in my gallery. Many Yorkshire homes display my paintings on their walls, and customers return with visiting friends to show off “their local artist”. Here at the gallery I also offer a year-round calendar of guided nature walks and falconry events. I employ local tour guides to run these extra events. Click here to find out whats on. I have even joined forces with a nearby travel agent to run tailor-made holidays to the Galapagos Islands. Contact me on 01759 368355 to find out when the next trip is planned.

I employ local people to run my gallery, all of them friendly and knowledgeable in wildlife matters. Among my staff is a skilled framer who offers a bespoke framing service which is widely used by the surrounding community. Click here for more information.

In the 19 years since I launched the gallery and business, it has grown to serve some 20,000 customers across the country. And in the run up to Christmas this remote building is a hive of activity, sending out up to 50 parcels a day to destinations across the globe. Its nice to think that people all over the world are able to access my work, despite my remote location.

If you are planning a visit to Yorkshire and you love wildlife, be sure to make the Robert Fuller Gallery a stop on your route!
