The first of tawny owls' Bomber & Luna's chicks has fledged. Watch its first, short flight here.
Tawny owl chicks are notoriously adventurous and often leave the nest before their feathers are fully developed so these first flights are closer to 'hops' than flights. It is difficult to distinguish the owlets at this stage but our guess is that this is the eldest, named Eclipse by fans of this channel. Eclipse is 33 days old today and it's great to watch this adventurous owlet explore the world outside its nest at last. The remaining two chicks should follow suit over the next few days.
