Die Nachricht dieser Woche, dass die Regierung den Verkauf öffentlicher Wälder plant, ist sehr besorgniserregend.
Eichhörnchen sind bereits in Not und ein Großteil unserer bedrohten Tierwelt ist auf Wälder und Gehölze angewiesen.
Die Erhaltung von 250.000 Hektar nationalem Waldgebiet kostet jeden Steuerzahler nur 30 Pence pro Jahr – das ist kaum eine Belastung für die Staatskasse. Heute habe ich mich der Kampagne „38 Degrees“ angeschlossen, um den Ausverkauf zu verhindern.

Thanks Mike. It really is so important. Allerthorpe forest near here is one of the so-called ‘heritage forests’ which the government has pledged will only be handed to charitable trusts but I’m not convinced of how safeguarded it is. It is one of the only places left in the Vale of York where you can still see night jars and is also known for its adders.
